Bowen Therapy
What is Bowen Therapy?
Bowen Therapy is a unique form of bodywork that uses gentle rolling movements over the fascia and soft tissue of the body. It balances the nervous system, releases muscle tension and improves structural and physiological function.
It is a wholistic treatment that initiates the body’s innate healing response, moving towards optimal health and wellbeing. Excellent in the treatment of acute and chronic pain and a gentle and effective way to address held trauma in the body. Bowen is often able to resolve issues in only 3-4 sessions!
✨My Personal Story with Bowen✨
In over 20 years of being a healer, I had never found a modality that felt as life-changing as Bowen Therapy. It truly changed my life.
After years of doing deep massage work and carrying my four children, my shoulders were so damaged I could barely lift a glass. I eventually had to give up my massage license because the pain became too much. Around that time, I received a message from a healer in Peru— I was meant to learn Bowen. I had heard about it in the most random ways for months, like little seeds being planted.
Curious, I drove all the way to Winnipeg to see the closest therapist. My first session honestly left me confused and disappointed— I was used to deep pressure, and Bowen felt so gentle that I wondered if it had done anything at all.
But that night, lying in bed, I reached for something and realized my shoulder had full range of motion… and it was virtually pain-free. I couldn’t believe it. In that moment, I knew I needed to know more.
I went on to train in Bowen, and during that year I healed everything I had been struggling with — chronic fatigue, adrenal fatigue, migraines, tension headaches, painful menstrual cycles, my shoulder and years of body pain. Bowen completely changed how I understood the body’s ability to heal.
My family hardly ever needs the doctor now; the first thing my kids ask when they’re hurt is, “Can you do a Bowen?” I feel deeply grateful to have discovered this work and to offer it to others.
We’ve all experienced trauma, and our stress levels are higher than ever. Our nervous systems are overwhelmed and in need of rest, reset, and repair. That’s what Bowen does. When the nervous system becomes calm and balanced, the body finally has the conditions it needs to heal itself — and it’s amazing what becomes possible.
I witness what feels like magic every week in my clients. And while it feels magical, Bowen is also grounded in real evidence and science. You can learn more in the videos below.
With gratitude,

The Principles That Guide My Bowen Practice
Working in Harmony With Your Body’s Wisdom
Bowen Therapy is a gentle, intelligent form of nervous system healing.
It works not by forcing the body but by inviting it back into balance — naturally, intuitively, and at its own pace.
Bowen is based on the principle that your body already knows how to heal.
My job is not to overpower that process, but to create the conditions in which it can finally happen.
Less input, more healing.
Bowen is intentionally subtle.
The pauses, the stillness, the soft movements — they’re designed to activate the body’s own healing intelligence.
When the system is given too much stimulation — chiropractic adjustments, deep massage, acupuncture, supplements, workouts — the body gets overwhelmed.
It splits its attention and loses the opportunity to integrate.
Bowen works best when we keep things simple.
Space is medicine.
After a treatment, your body continues to unwind and reorganize for days.
This is not something we rush or stack other therapies on top of.
Healing is not about doing more — it’s about giving your body time to respond.
Your nervous system leads the way.
Bowen helps shift your system from survival mode into rest, repair, and clarity.
When the nervous system softens, muscles reset, fascia unwinds, and pain patterns release — often without force or intensity.
Instead of trying to “fix” anything, we’re listening to what your body is asking for and allowing it to find its own alignment.
Trust is part of the treatment.
A big part of Bowen is learning to trust your body again.
Clients often feel calmer, clearer, more grounded, and more connected — and that’s not by accident.
It’s the result of working with your body rather than doing things to it.
One modality at a time is more powerful.
For the period we’re working together, I recommend avoiding other forms of manual therapy.
Bowen is unique because it sets off a series of neurological and fascial responses that need space and quiet to land.
Mixing modalities confuses the system and can slow progress.
When we commit to one approach, the results deepen.
You don’t need to micromanage the process.
You’ll receive everything you need during your session — clear recommendations for aftercare, guidance around what to avoid, and support if anything unexpected comes up.
You don’t have to double-check every decision.
Your body knows what to do, and I’m here to support the process.
The intention: a calmer, clearer, more aligned you.
Bowen isn’t just about addressing symptoms.
It’s about rebalancing the entire system so you can move, breathe, sleep, and live with more ease — physically, emotionally, and energetically.
